According to Semnan University Public Relations, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Ehsani announced the news and said: In the latest Times 2025 subject ranking, Semnan University succeeded in ranking 801 to 1000 in the world in the subject area of ​​engineering.

The Vice Chancellor for Research & Technology of Semnan University added: In the subject area of ​​physical sciences, Semnan University has also succeeded in achieving the 801st to 1000th position in the world.

Dr. Ehsani stated that one of the important rankings the Times conducts annually is the evaluation and measurement of universities in various subject areas, adding: "This ranking introduces the world's top universities in 11 general subject areas."

The Vice Chancellor for Research & Technology at Semnan University stated: "The Times' subject ranking is based on five main criteria: education (learning environment), research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry, similar to the Times' global ranking, where universities are evaluated and weighted in each of these five indicators in each subject area."

Dr. Ehsani stated that in 2025, 81 universities from the Islamic Republic of Iran are present in this ranking, while in 2024, 73 universities in the country were present in this global ranking.

The Deputy Director of Research and Technology of Semnan University noted: that Semnan University, as the designated university of Semnan Province, has entered this prestigious global ranking for the first time since 2020 and has been able to maintain its presence in this ranking so far.
