The Vice-Chancellor of Research and Technology of the university said: that Semnan University was able to appear in the latest Leiden 2024 ranking system among 1,506 top universities in the world.
According to Semnan University public relations report; Announcing this news, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Ehsani said: In this ranking, Semnan University has managed to get the 961st global rank in the criterion of scientific authority, the 1,256th global rank in scientific diplomacy, and free access to publications among the universities of the world.
Dr. Ehsani added: This is even though Semnan University was ranked 1,190 worldwide regarding gender diversity.
Semnan University Vice-Chancellor of Research and Technology said: In the latest Leiden 2024 ranking, similar to 2023, the names of 46 Iranian universities appear.
Dr. Ehsani pointed out and specified the criteria considered for each ranking: scientific reference criterion (scientific impact) from the total number of publications and indicators such as top 1% of articles, top 5% of articles, top 10% articles and 50% articles In the form of number and share of the total and the total number of publications, the total and average number of citations of the university's publications, as well as the total and average number of normalized citations (by field and year) of the university.
Semnan University Board member said: That the scientific diplomacy criterion has used indicators such as the total number of publications, scientific cooperation, international cooperation, industrial cooperation, scientific cooperation with a geographical distance of less than 100 km, and scientific cooperation with a geographical distance of more than 5000 km (in the form of number and share of the total).
He continued: The criteria for access to open publications are also made up of the total number of publications and indicators of open access publications, golden open access publications, hybrid open access publications, bronze open access publications, and green open access publications(as number and share of the total).
