According to Semnan University Public Relations, the President of Semnan University, in a brainstorming session to improve and explain the level of services to international students, which was held at the university with the presence of influential figures in the market and business of Semnan, while condemning the actions of armed terrorists and the martyrdom of several people and security guards, referring to the 51st year of Semnan University's activities, said: "The motto of Semnan University since my tenure on January 10, 1401, has been the comprehensive development of the knowledge base of Semnan University, an all-round, forward-looking and sustainable development of basic science for the university, and around this motto, measures were taken, one of which was attracting international students."

The president of Semnan University introduced the university and said: Currently, there are 26 faculties approved by the Board of Trustees and active, 120 educational groups, 260 academic fields, a science and technology park, about 15,000 Iranian students and nearly 4,000 international students studying at this university, and including faculty members and employees, the number of Semnan University family members reaches about 18,000 people.

Dr. Saedodin stated that this university currently has 100 postdoctoral researchers who hold various responsibilities in the country.

He listed the allocation of dormitories to all students with the required years of study as one of the important measures of this university, adding, "A lot of effort and follow-up was made to implement this plan, and from 2024 onwards, all students of this university will be allocated dormitories."

Referring to the education of international students at the university, the president of Semnan University added, "It has been approved to recruit six thousand students at the end of the seventh program at Semnan University, and this figure is currently more than three thousand students."

The president of Semnan University stated, "By gaining experiences from different universities, plans were made, and actions were taken to attract international students. One of Semnan University's goals in attracting international students was to help increase the university's position in global rankings and increase the university's scientific authority. At the same time, based on international studies and findings, international students pay a certain amount for tuition fees, and each semester, each student spends 600 to 900 million Tomans in the city, and this, in return for efforts to accept tourists, injects more prosperity into the city."

He added: Currently, six thousand Iranian students and three thousand eight hundred international students are accommodated in the dormitories of this university, and when students are present, the capacity of all hotels in this city is full, and this has a great impact on the prosperity of businesses.

Dr. Saedodin stated that economic prosperity and foreign exchange earnings are only one of the goals of attracting international students and continued: "These students will produce scientific achievements and will also have an impact on the ranking of this university at the international level."

He said: "Countries like England, which have a good ranking in the world in attracting international students, are trying to maintain their position in this field because of its advantages." The president of Semnan University said: Fortunately, with the implementation of these programs, not only were the debts paid off, but the university's state budget tripled compared to that year, and the university's own revenues also increased.

Dr. Saedodin stated that in addition to these, most of the demands of professors and employees were paid, and added: This year, 120 billion Tomans, in addition to all university expenses, have been approved by the Board of Trustees, and the university's unfinished construction projects, including the university's information technology building project after 16 years, the university's swimming pool and the Faculty of Natural Resources Engineering located in Mehdishahr after many years, and the central laboratory, are also on the agenda for completion.

He listed the lack of single dormitories as one of Semnan University's problems and added: "A dormitory with a capacity of 500 people has been funded, apart from the government budget and the university's approved budget, and a contractor will be selected by the end of February, and this dormitory will be built for single female students."

The president of Semnan University continued: Four blocks of married dormitories with 150 units are also being built for married students so that married students can study and learn with confidence.

Dr. Saedodin also added: With the allocation of the Petroleum Faculty to the University's Science and Technology Park, the added value of the University's Science and Technology Park currently amounts to more than 70 billion Tomans.

The president of Semnan University stated: "We expect to work with the help of donors to develop the university in the dormitory sector in several ways, and currently eight restaurants have been built inside the university, which were built by investors in the form of B.O.T. and will be operated for between 18 and 20 years."

Dr. Saedodin said: Semnan University also welcomes the construction of dormitories by investors in the form of B.O.T.

Dr. Saedodin pointed out that countries such as England and America are very active in attracting international students and, due to the numerous benefits of the presence of international students in their countries, are not willing to lose these students and lower their ranking in this regard. He added: "Despite all the problems that have arisen in the field of international students, Semnan University is very steadfast, and in this regard, we call for the cooperation of the executive bodies as well as the city's benefactors and influential people to support this plan for the prosperity of the university and the city."

The president of Semnan University stated that experienced and highly qualified professors are used to teach international students and added: "Fortunately, a good image of Semnan University has been formed in the minds of international students of this university, and the security of Semnan city, the appropriate treatment of these students by the authorities, and the use of experienced professors to improve their academic level have encouraged them to study at Semnan University."

Dr. Saedodin called for more cooperation from trade unions to use this capacity and added, "The more we can soften this space for them outside the university, the more successful we will be in this field, and the attraction of six thousand students, according to the Seventh Development Plan, will be achieved at Semnan University."

Dr. Saedodin also added: With the allocation of the Petroleum Faculty to the University's Science and Technology Park, the added value of the University's Science and Technology Park currently amounts to more than 70 billion Tomans.

Several marketers, merchants, and members of various guilds also pointed out in this meeting the positive role of these students on the economy, market, and economic prosperity of the city, and called for measures to be taken to facilitate discussions between merchants and international students and to legalize the issue of renting units by these students for better supervision in the city. They also presented their suggestions in the areas of improving the dormitory sector, attracting international students, and utilizing their capacity in various service and welfare sectors.
