Familiarization of tourism management students of Semnan University with the thousand-year engineering of water division in Semnan
The head of the tourism faculty of Semnan University says: The students of this faculty got acquainted with the water division system for irrigation of agricultural lands in Semnan during a visit of several hours.
According to Semnan University public relations report; Announcing this news, Dr. Abdolmohammad Kashian said: During this visit, about 40 students of the tourism management department of this faculty were familiar with the traditional system of water division in Semnan, which is more than a thousand years old and has been common and used for centuries.
Dr. Kashian stated that tourism management students are good advertisers for introducing traditional cultures to the people of other cities and added: This visit is also aimed at familiarizing the students and introducing the traditional water division system in Semnan to the people of other cities and provinces of the country due to the job position and their field of study was held.
It is said that the traditional water division system in Semnan dates back to about a thousand years ago, and Sheikh Alaodoleh Semnani, one of the leaders of the Ilkhani, who later became one of the mystics famous Iran, organized and engineered this division seven hundred years ago, which continues to this day.
This division system in Semnan is generally in such a way that water enters from a river called Gol Rudbar from the north of the city and is divided into five parts in a place called a water spreader and then flows into 6 water storage pools that each of which has a name and the names are derived from the historical names of the neighborhoods where the water enters.
Also, the irrigation system in the city of Semnan was registered as number 400 in the list of spiritual works of Iran in 2011, and efforts are underway to register it globally.
The traditional irrigation method of Semnan has created beautiful garden alleys in the city of Semnan, and its effects can be seen in the streets and alleys, and since Semnan has an ancient dialect, many names of garden alleys have been named by people under the influence of this dialect.
